This week’s artists include DJ Joey Mazza; Jen Kearney and The Lost Onion, a seven-piece band that plays an adventurous blend of soul, funk, jazz and Latin music; Brooklyn-born Tamar-kali, a songwriter and vocalist who cut her teeth on New York City’s hardcore rock scene; and composer-writer-performer Imani Uzuri, the artist behind the acclaimed Her Holy Water: A Black Girl’s Rock Opera, whose music was classified as “soulful, provocative and emotionally charged” by The New York Post.
